Bran looked into the little campfire. The forest around him seemed to sleep but he was still aware of his surroundings. He had been warned for the dangers of the forest but when he was surrounded by other people, he had laughed at them. Now, the danger seemed a lot closer and it wasn’t as so funny anymore.
He hadn’t even needed to go through the forest. There were other ways, around it. They might be longer but they were better maintained and safer. In the forest housed rovers and creatures like wolves, wild boars and dragons.

The snow cracked beneath the hoofs of the horses. Every time the horses and their riders breathed out, a small cloud appeared close to their face. The riders were warmly dressed and everyone had, beside the necessary baggage, multiple weapons with them. It were both men and women and they looked dangerous, not the type of people you'd want to come across. Luckily that was not necessary. The group rode slowly across the mountains, following paths that even without snow would have been hard to notice.
